Dear Member,
Here at The Rhubarb Society, our inboxes are often clogged with a variety of emails; the proper way to pair a Château Lafite with a particularly tricky canapé, suggested background checks on various members, changing personal membership details (again) after finalising a divorce. But perhaps the most delightful are the accidental emails—those intended for other recipients (read: staff) that somehow find their way to us. We’ve received shopping lists featuring bespoke underwear and rare vintage ports, lengthy diatribes about the audacity of serving Prosecco at a black-tie event, and even a draft resignation letter from someone clearly fed up with their polo instructor but not, it seems, with the sport itself. In honour of these most amusing and surprising emails, for today’s issue, we have decided to share one (of many) from our chairwoman. Whilst she is often eager to contribute to the club’s newsletters, an alarming number of her emails oscillate between offensive and inappropriate, and quite frankly, we can’t afford any more legal issues. However, she has insisted that members should read her notes on her experience in The Windsor Suite, just incase members find themselves flying commercial whilst missing the perks of flying private.
Before we dive into what could be a potentially problematic and obnoxious issue that we aren’t allowed to edit or veto because the author is our boss (and frankly rather terrifying)…some updates from around the club!
- If you missed out on tickets to our Easter event and would like to be notified of future in person events at The Rhubarb Society, you can do so here.
- New Member’s Benefits have been added for our members at the Love My Human townhouse for food, drink, and dog grooming as well as at Zobu for at home luxury beauty treatments. All member’s benefits can be found in our Instagram highlights or on the ‘Members Benefits’ channel in The Clubhouse. If there are any brands or businesses you’d like to see added to your benefits, please email us and we will see what we can do!
- Our resident concierge service, Max, has updated his Little Black Book with some new restaurants and bars for members to try next time they are in London.
- We will be running a virtual games night in The Clubhouse on April 27th for members shortly after our in person event so those who missed out won’t have to worry about too much FOMO. We will be playing a series of games from Jackbox TV – all you will need is your phone and your laptop and you won’t have to turn your cameras on if you don’t feel comfortable doing so!
